Shares of Electronic Arts Inc. (Nasdaq: ERTS) are seeing interest today on renewed speculation the company could be the target of a takeover bid, sparked by a column at DailyFinance.com by Gene Marcial.
With the stock down 75% from its peak, some are suggesting it is a takeover target. One holder of the shares, Larry Haverty, who heads Gabelli Global Multimedia Trust, suggested Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL), News Corp. (NYSE: NWS), Disney (NYSE: DIS) or Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) could buy EA.
Shares of EA are up 1.45% today to $16..93.
