Disney (NYSE: DIS) wants to slap a digital wristband on you ASAP. And, so do its investors.

Reports out Friday have the creator of the aptly-named Disneyland and Walt Disney World seeing big profits from its new venture into electronic transactions. Bloomberg cites parks division chairman Tom Staggs in saying that preliminary tests of a device that serves as admission tickets, credit cards, and hotel room keys has actually boosted spending buy guests.

Speaking at the Sun Valley conference this week, Staggs said more money was spent because that guests were having fun with the technology. Specific spending increases weren't detailed by Staggs at the event.

Another benefit of the wristband, called MyMagic+, includes helping with crowd control by allowing guests to book rides and restaurant reservations in advance.

Users wave the device past a sensor, which then transfers and stores transaction data in a special database. The data is then used to offer special promotions in the future that guests might be interested in.

It wasn't made clear when a wider roll-out would happen with MyMagic+ Shares of Disney are up modestly at the start.
