Despite Reports of Smooth Travel Nationwide, Airline Stocks Lower Today

Airline stocks are trading mostly lower today despite reports of smooth travel on the eve of one of the busiest travel days of the year. Sources from around the country suggest that despite recent protests related to the TSA's use of body scan devices, passengers and officials alike are trying to keep lines flowing at an appropriate pace.

• Delta Air (NYSE: DAL) down 0.7% to $14.23
  
• United Continental (NYSE: UAL) down 1.4% to $28.80
  
• AMR Corp. (NYSE: AMR) down 1.3% to $8.59
  
• JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) down 0.3% to $6.86
  
• US Airways (NYSE: LCC) down 0.6% to $11.67

The Claymore/NYSE Arca Airline ETF (NYSE: FAA), although very thinly-traded, is down 1% today.
