Citi (C) CEO Pandit Buys 750K Common Shares, 100K Preferred Shares

Citi (NYSE: C) CEO Vikram Pandit disclosed purchases of 750,000 shares of common stock today at prices from $8.92-$9.53.
In addition, Pandit disclosed purchases of 100,000 shares of Non-Cumulative Preferred Stock, Series AA and Series F.
After the close, the Wall Street Journal reported that Citi executives bought 1.2 million shares today to stop the free-fall in the shares.
Many have been calling for the ouster of Pandit, who took over Citi after Chuck Prince was forced out.
Shares of Citi closed down 2% today to $9.45, but traded as low $8.27 intra-day.
In addition, Pandit disclosed purchases of 100,000 shares of Non-Cumulative Preferred Stock, Series AA and Series F.
