Chris Christie Presidential Run Rumors Gain Steam
Well, well, well. It seems Thursday's rumor that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is ready to throw his hat in the ring for the 2012 presidential race has some legs.
New Jersey's largest paper, the Star-Ledger, reported overnight that Christie is "seriously considering" a run, after denying the speculation for months.
So how would the market react to such a move? Many think positively.
In fact the market ramp into the close Thursday was in part attributed to rumors Christie was entering the race. Some suggest Christie would easily win the Republican nomination and then have no problem toppling President Obama in November 2012. Now that would be a serious market positive event.
