Chocolate Toothpaste, Another Promising Sign for Arena's (ARNA) Fat Pill

July 5, 2012 3:18 PM EDT
When it comes to American's love of sweets, a good rule of thumb is to never underestimate how disgusting we are or how low we are willing to sink. If you think Jack-in-the-Box's bacon flavored milkshake was a low point for gluttony in this country, think again. Surprise, we now have chocolate toothpaste!

Theodent's chocolate toothpaste recently won a Red Dot award for product design, but his may just add insult to injury since the chocolate toothpaste now offers a double wammie of sleek design and appealing taste. The fluoride-free toothpaste launched earlier this year in 171 Whole Foods Markets (Nasdaq: WFM) nationwide.

Needless to say, if Americans can't even brush their teeth without stuffing their mouths with sweets, it could paint a rosy picture for Arena pharmaceutical’s (Nasdaq: ARNA) new fat pill, which received FDA approval recently.

Arena Pharmaceuticals is up 11 percent intraday on Thursday. Coincidence or not?
