Chevron (CVX) Confirms Shut Down of Nigerian Pipeline Following Militant Attack

Chevron Corp. (NYSE: CVX) announced that they have suspended production from a Nigerian pipeline in Delta state following an attack by militants last Friday.
The company said that they were examining the damage done to their Dibi-Abieye pipeline. No word as to how much production would be lost from the shut down.
The militant group, known as Niger Delta Liberation Force ('NDLF'), bombed three oil flow stations operated by Chevron and Agip. NDLF demanded the withdrawal of troops from Ayokomor.
Shares of CVX are up 0.8% on the day.
