Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE: CHK) shares are higher following the announcement that a Total (NYSE: TOT) unit will acquire an undivided 25 percent interest in approximately 619,000 net acres in the liquids-rich area of the Utica Shale for about $2.32 billion.
