Caxton Global Announces Departure of Two Co-Founders, Kovner & D’Angelo
Caxton Associates is losing two of its co-founders, Bruce Kovner and Peter D’Angelo. The two money managers have been running the $10 billion hedge fund successfully for just under three decades.
Andrew Law, the company’s Chief Investment Officer since 2008, will assume Mr. Kovner’s role. Kovner has been planning on retiring since he hired Law.
"After 34 years in the trading business and more than 28 years leading Caxton, the time has come to hand the leadership of the company to a new generation," Mr. Kovner said.
Caxton Global Investment fund has been returning, on average, 21 percent since it began, sharply trumping the S&P 500 Index return average of 11 percent. The hedge fund only had one losing year (losing just 2.5 percent), back in 1995.
