Canadian Solar (CSIQ) Affirms Entering MOU for Pakistan Solar Project

Canadian Solar, Inc. (Nasdaq: CSIQ) has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Punjab to build new solar power plants in Pakistan. Comments were made by company spokesperson Ed Job to Bloomberg on Friday.
Canadian Solar is still in early stages of assessing what the opportunities will be and will provide more information on the MOU as the situation develops.
Earlier today, Northland Capital analyst Colin Rusch also said that Canadian Solar had won a project in Pakistan. The analyst estimates that the size of the project is about 500MW.
Shares of Canadian Solar are up 7.7 percent Friday.
