Cable Stocks Hit On Possible FCC Reclassification

Cable stocks are getting slammed today as the FCC will seek to reclassify broadband to make regulation similar to traditional phone networks.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachows is expected to outline his plan today and wants to adopt net neutrality rules for Internet providers.

Analysts have called this the "nuclear option."

Time Warner Cable Inc. (NYSE: TWC) - 4%
Cablevision Systems Corporation (NYSE: CVC) - 4%
Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) - 2.7%
