CEO's Say Dry Bulk Growth Not Slowing (DRYS, EXM, TBSI)

November 26, 2007 12:52 PM EST
On the call, the CEOs were asked if the dry bulk business was slowing because of the current slowdown in the US market. All the CEO's said the business was not slowing and that the US portion of business only played a small role into their revenue. Asia is growing by leaps and bounds which more than makes up for a slowdown in the US Business.

The CEO's who said this on the call were from these companies: DryShips (Nasdaq: DRYS), Excel Maritime (NYSE: EXM) and TBS International (Nasdaq: TBSI). I would expect the CEOs to talk about sector demand in the bulk shipping industry and how the economics, such as fuel rates affecting the industry.

Also, DryShips, Excel Maritime and TBS International said gas prices have not affected their business. These companies have been able to pass on the higher gas prices to the customers.
