British media outlets are suggestion that BP (NYSE: BP) will most likely cut or suspend their dividend soon. Here's the list of the media so far:
- The Times Online "has learnt that BP is preparing to defer payment of its next dividend to shareholders by placing the money in an escrow account until the full scale of the company’s liabilities from the disaster can be determined."
- Financial Times also reports that believe BP will cut their dividend (we dont' have a subscription)
- The BBC has also learned that BP is planning to suspend their dividend. BBC business editor Robert Peston says that BP directors are to meet on Monday to discuss the payments. A source at BBC is indicating that a formal announcement will be made on Wednesday.
