Following a rather-horrifying 58 percent drop in 2011, shares are up 21-plus percent through the first eight trading sessions of 2012.
In terms of financials, Genworth (NYSE: GNW) shares are next at a 19 percent gain, Citigroup (NYSE: C) shares are at third with a 19 percent gain, and shares of SunTrust (NYSE: STI) are up about 18 percent.
Notably, only Citi is up during Thursday's session, but overall early performance might be a relief for some investors.
