BlackBerry (BBRY) Component Orders Rise on 'Strong' Q10 Sales

BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) could possibly be selling more handsets that most expect.

According to data from Digitimes, BlackBerry has been stepping up its parts and component orders with suppliers in Taiwan.

Sources said that sales of BlackBerry's QWERTY keyboard-equipped Q10 device has seen strong sales in the U.S. and Europe. Market sentiment has also lifted with the device.

Suppliers think that BlackBerry is likely to release a entry-level to mid-range BlackBerry 10 model for emerging markets. Indeed, some of the component orders have been for small-size LCD panels.

Should BlackBerry be able to replicate success its seen in the Middle East and Indonesia, estimates have shipments of 30 million to 40 million BB10 handsets possible in FY13.

Shares of BlackBerry are indicated for a higher open Friday.
