BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) is up for a second-straight session today (though a 0.1 percent gain might not be as notable). CEO John Chen spoke at Re/code's inaugural Code Conference yesterday.
In part, Chen said BlackBerry wasn't dead yet, but the company doesn't have a lot of problems.
He acknowledged that parts of the company were doing worse than he expected after assuming the CEO role last November.
Chen said BlackBerry will aim to successfully reinvigorate its enterprise roots and develop products for specialized markets where security is key.
BlackBerry will also aim to break into the Internet of Things market, selling its products to companies which will turn around and sell those to the consumer.
I am quite confident that we’ll be able to save the patient,
Chen said.
Similar sentiment was conveyed yesterday when Chen spoke on CNBC, saying he believed that the company will be breakeven to cash-flow positive before the end of 2014.
Shares of BlackBerry are up 4.5 percent.
