BlackBerry's (Nasdaq: BBRY) Global Creative Director Alicia Keys may be singing about a different company come the end of January.
According to Canada's CTVNews.ca, BlackBerry and Keys will cut ties on January 30th following a one-year collaboration. Keys was named to the role when BlackBerry debuted its BB10 operating system last year and appeared at many corporate events and promotional material along the way.
In a statement issued today, BlackBerry said,
BlackBerry's BB10 never really caught on with the masses, causing the company to losing consumer market share along the way. While some think the death knell has been sounded, CEO John Chen isn't ready to give up the fight quite yet.
Despite pressure on the broader market, BlackBerry shares are up 3.6 percent Thursday.
