Best Buy Sells Out of iPads

Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) has sold out of the iPad at all 673 of its retail stores with Apple shops in the U.S., but Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) company run stores have been able to keep stock replenished since the device’s launch last Saturday.
"We expect to have iPad inventory replenished at these locations by Sunday," a company spokeswoman Paula Baldwin told CNET News.
The report from CNET noted that Best Buy stores on the East and West Coast are completely wiped out of stock of the tablet computer, with most of the locations selling out on the first day of release.
For those who are searching for an iPad, Apple stores are the best bet as locations contacted by CNET had stock of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models that have been selling out by late in the afternoon. However the locations said that Apple has been keeping the shipments coming in each day.
Apple said that it was able to sell 300,000 units of the new device’s Wi-Fi only models on the first day of release last weekend.
The company is set to start shipping 3G models of the iPad later this month with coverage being made available through the AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) wireless network.
Shares of Apple are down 0.86 percent $238.52 in early market movement on Thursday.
