Baidu (BIDU) Releases Chromecast Knock-Off in China (GOOG)

Looking to get more control of consumers' living rooms in China, Internet search giant Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) has released its own Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Chromecast-like device.
According to TheNextWeb, Baidu's TV dongle allows users to stream content from their smartphone, tablet, or laptop to an HDTV screen. The device plugs-in via HDMI port. Supported features include Airplay, BDPlay, iQiyi content, and DLNA.
Pricing for the dongle is about $32, which is in-line with Chromecast's $35 price tag.
Other living room-focused items offered up by Baidu include a USB WiFi dongle and wireless router.
Along with the aforementioned devices, Baidu has also been working on a Google Glass-type wearable devie, which is codenamed "Baidu Eye."
Shares of Baidu are up 2 percent Monday.
