BP plc (NYSE: BP) continues its dead cat bounce from 14 year lows, as investors start to wrap their heads around the company's potential liability from the Gulf spill and feel more comfortable.
Shares are up 2 percent to $32.35, and up 12 percent from the lows.
With the spill containing there remains many unknowns, but high risk investors appear to be taking a swing. Also, short covering could be contributing.
While the company has already put out $22 billion, total liabilities could range from $50-$100 billion.
