BJ's Wholesale (NYSE: BJ) is 9% lower this morning on the back of an earnings warning from larger rival Costco (Nasdaq: COST).
Costco said earnings per share for the fourth quarter are expected to be well below the current First Call consensus earnings per share estimate of $1.00. Costco said, "Factors negatively affecting our fourth quarter earnings outlook arise largely from inflation, particularly as to energy costs."
Both companies operates warehouse clubs in the US.
