Auto Sales in China to Rise 8% During 2012
China’s auto sales are expected to see an increase of 8 percent over 2012 after only growing by 2.5 percent in 2011.
China is currently the largest auto market in the world after selling 18.51 million vehicles last year. Posting substantial auto sales growth in 2011 was tough after experiencing such growth in 2010. Stricter government policies also weighed.
The deputy secretary general at The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Shi Jianhua, forecasts passenger-vehicle sales will increase by 9.5 percent to 15.87 million in 2012 after growing 5.2 percent to 14.5 million in 2011.
