Applied Materials (AMAT) Acquisition May Bring Upgrades From Analysts

Applied Materials (NASDAQ: AMAT) is buying privately held Baccini for $330 million. Applied Materials said the deal would be accretive, lifting EPS in the first year, and would strengthen its position in the market for solar panels. The company expects to complete the acquisition early next year.

I would expect that analysts may like this acquisition and come out with upgrades on Applied Materials in the near future.

Applied Materials develops, manufactures, markets and services semiconductor and semiconductor-related fabrication equipment, providing nanomanufacturing technology solutions to the global semiconductor, flat panel display, solar and other industries.
