Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is gearing up to drastically alter the Mac lineup.
According to reports Monday, a supplier has said orders from Apple have called for parts which are "absolutely different" from current products. The supplier also mulls that a new name could be given to the devices other than the current Mac moniker.
AppleInsider continues that the move might be separate from Apple's efforts to transition its current MacBook Pro offerings into the slimmer MacBook air form, cutting away things like traditional hard disk and optical drives in favor of solid-state drives.
Apple shares are 1.9 percent higher Monday.
