Apple, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) may be bringing a new product to China faster than anticipated.
According to Dow Jones Tuesday, Apple is planning on selling its popular iPad 2 tablet device in China starting Wednesday. The iPad 2 will be the 3G-compatible version.
An Apple rep said the tablet will be available via retail stores, authorized resellers, and at its online stores.
Currently, Apple only officially sells iPad 2 devices with Wi-Fi connections.
China Unicom (NYSE: CHU) is Apple's current wireless partner in China, and it may be the primary carrier of the iPad 2 on its 3G network. The company did not issue a comment on the move by Apple.
Apple is up about 1.2 percent Tuesday morning.
