Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) could release its iPhone 6 in the latter part of 2014.
According to China's Economic Daily News, mass production of 4.7-inch panels for the iPhone 6 will begin in July and Hon Hai Precision will assemble the device. Debut of the new iPhone should be in third-quarter 2014.
The report also had Apple testing an iPhone model with a 5.6-inch display, which utilized sapphire glass panels. Reports earlier in February had Apple filing a patent to use sapphire crystal in upcoming devices, which would be a boon for partner GT Advanced Technologies (Nasdaq: GTAT).
Apple is positive in early trading Tuesday.
