According to Digitimes Thursday morning, OEM maker Foxconn Electronics is producing up to 150,000 iPhone's per day in anticipation of the iPhone 5 launch. Sources also indicate "lens maker Largan Precision, touch panel maker TPK Holding, reinforced glass supplier G-Tech Optoelectronics and battery vendors Simplo and Dynapack are all operating at full swing currently."
Shipments in September are expected to reach 5 million units, with 22 million units expected to ship in the fourth quarter. Shipments of Apple's outgoing iPhone 4 will ease in the fourth quarter to make room for the new device.
Though nothing official has been confirmed by either party, Apple is mulling the addition of Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S) as a potential channel for the device, expected to launch sometime in mid-October, giving it access to another 32.9 million or so post-paid subscribers.
Apple is trading up about 0.5 percent Thursday morning.
