Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AAPL) second-generation iPad tablet device could delay until June, according to a report from Bloomberg on Monday citing the company's manufacturing partner Hon Hai.
Yuanta Securities analysts Vincent Chen and Alison Chen reported that production bottlenecks are hampering the release of the device.
"Our checks suggest new issues are being encountered with the new production and it is taking time to resolve them,” said Chen. "As a number of Android 3.0 tablets are being launched in April and May, the delay in iPad 2 shipments may give the Android camp a brief window of opportunity."
The report contradicts rumors that the next iPad was already in production and the company has planned a March event for the unveiling.
If the iPad 2 launches in June it would likely coincide with the launch of the next iPhone which typically happens early in the summer.
