Apple (AAPL) To Hold Press Conference Friday To Discuss iPhone 4

July 14, 2010 11:27 PM EDT
Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) will hold a press conference Friday to discuss the iPhone 4, which has been the subject of negative press due to reception problems.

The meeting will be held at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California at 10AM PT.

The company did not give details about who would speak at the event, so it is unclear if CEO Steve Jobs will address the issues himself.

Apple tried to clear up users concerns a few weeks ago, saying a software problem caused the signal bars to show up incorrectly. But earlier this week, Consumer Reports said they could not recommend readers buy they device because the reception problem was related to the a hardware flaw.

Apple sold more than 1.7 million units of the iPhone 4 in first three days of launch in late-June, making the device the most popular product debut for the company ever.
