The availability of the phenomenally popular Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad 2 has started to improve, as the company will now ship new online orders in 3-4 weeks in the U.S.
The shipping timeframe is an improvement over the previous estimate of between four and five weeks, which was put in place shortly after launch.
This is also a positive sign for the international launch of the device on Friday, as concerns arose that Apple would not meet demand for the iPad 2 in the 25 countries slated initial overseas availability.
Concerns about component availability following the massive earthquake in Japan were eased last week when Foxconn said it had enough parts hoarded to keep building units for another 2-3 weeks.
