Data from Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) website, as well as observations in the blog-o-sphere, suggest the iPad 2 is now shipping within 24 hours following an order for the first time since launch.
Initially a positive bit of news, closer inspection reveals this may be due to waning demand. Quotes on shipments for the first few months since launch had consumers waiting four to five weeks before getting their hands on the new device.
With Apple now able to ship the iPad 2 this quickly, investors may want to curb enthusiasm until product refresh later in 2011.
Shares of Apple are trading about 0.2 percent lower early Tuesday.
