Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) is getting ready to unveil a myriad of upgraded devices including new versions of the company's tablet computer the iPad, according to a report from Digitimes’ Joseph Tsai.
The Cupertino, California-based company will reportedly launch an upgraded 9.7 inch iPad that will utilize the new ARM Cortex-A9-based processor and feature 512 MB RAM in the first quarter of next year.
Apple will also, according to Digitimes senior research analyst Mingchi Kuo, launch a 7 inch iPad with the Cortex-A9 processor and a resolution of 1024X768. The smaller version will open the product up to a wider market that may have seen the original as still too large for everyday portability.
The report also said that Apple will finally bring its most popular product, the iPhone to Verizon (NYSE: VZ), as the company may be starting mass production of a CDMA version of the device in December. The CDMA iPhone will work with both the US-based Verizon Wireless and China-based China Telecom Corp. (NYSE: CHA).
The device will reportedly be announced at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in January by Verizon.
Digitimes added that Apple will launch a new Apple TV, which will incorporate Advanced Micro Devices’ (NYSE: AMD) Fusion solution, and will not include a hard drive. The new model will support social networking Websites, network multimedia and feature the popular App Store. The report said that mass production of the new Apple TV will begin in December.
Shares of Apple are up 46 cents to $260.55 in midday market movement on Monday.
