Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is said to have acquired Perceptio, which is a startup that allows users to run artifical intelligence (AI) on their smartphones without needing to share large amounts of personal data.
According to Bloomberg, Apple confirmed the deal, but didn't disclose terms of the purchase.
Perceptio would fit one of Apple's goals to minimize usage of consumer data while doing as much processing as possible on the smartphone device.
