Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is looking to increase its Mac shipments this year, amid tepid demand in the PC industry as a whole.
According to Digitimes, citing upsteam sources on the information, orders for Mac products in the second-half of 2015 have been stable and total volume is expected to exceed that of the first half.
Sources also noted that Apple's share of the global PC market is steadily growing with MacBook Air products attracting more Windows users. The combination of Windows 8 driving customers away and Apple offering attractive pricing on its Mac products bolstered the migration.
Apple shipped 4.8 million Mac products in its most recent quarter and 4.56 million Macs the prior quarter (fiscal Q215, calendar Q115).
Shares of Apple are trading nearly flat Thursday.
