Apple (AAPL) Hits Twitter

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) is getting active on Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) at @Apple ahead of the iPhone 7 unveiling on September 7th.

Apple's Twitter page says the iPhone maker originally joined the service in September 2011, but it has been dormant with not even a single post.

The newly modified account has been verified by Twitter and has amassed 111K followers and growing.

The background image selected by Apple for the page was also used in the iPhone 7 event invitations.
