Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) has been granted several new patents today, with one notable standout among the bunch.
Patently Apple is reporting that Apple has been granted a new patent by the U.S. PTO for editing on iDevices (i.e. - the iPhone and iPad). According to the report, Apple's patent covers "such matters as editable content at a first magnification, a content magnifier, an insertion marker, and a command display area. The three main aspects of the patent relate to a method, a graphical user interface and a multifunctional interface."
The patent -- 8,255,830 or the '830 patent -- was originally filed on September 24, 2009.
Aside from the editing patent, Apple was granted three other iPhone-related patents:
Following a 1.9 percent gain Monday on litigation victory over Samsung, shares of Apple are down about 0.3 percent Tuesday.
