Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) has deactivated its news app in China as the company looks to cope with stricter media laws in the country.
The NY Times said users in China are met with an error message that reads: Can’t refresh right now. News isn’t supported in your current region.
Grater China is Apple's second-largest sales area outside the U.S., with revenue of over $13 billion in Q3.
Shares of Apple are indicated higher in early trading.
