Did Apple, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) over-order on Mac?
According to data from Digitimes, the answer may very well be "yes."
Suppliers are said to have told Digitimes that Apple has cease component orders for its Mac line of computers. The move comes as many expected a ramp following the Lunar New Year holiday, but to no avail.
Apple may have aggressively ordered toward the end of 2012 and in continuing to digest inventories, Digitimes noted.
Suppliers noted that Apple generally gives its forecast for the quarter ahead of time, meaning the company may have underestimated weakness in the PC segment as well as the impact from its iPad tablet line.
Shares are indicated for a higher open Thursday.
