If you've ever watched television on a high-definition screen and thought to yourself, "This is okay, but couldn't it be...better?" then we've got some good news for you: Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) has you covered.

According to Digitimes on Wednesday, expectations from industry suppliers have Apple planning to produce a television with an Ultra HD picture (resolution of 3810 X 2160).

Apple and Hon Hai Precision (Foxconn) have been in talks to produce such a device. Apple's biggest challenge right now is finding out where panels for the TV set will come from, given that Taiwan suppliers will be at full capacity in 2013.

Other suppliers in Apple's supply chain that might have capacity for such an undertaking are likely to allocate resources for the iPhone, iPad, and iPad mini.

Apple might be looking to LG Display (NYSE: LPL) on supply of the panels by the second-half of 2013. Should LG be able to meet demand, Apple might be able to release its own TV set before the end of 2013. Otherwise, Apple might have to wait until the start of 2014 to debut the product.

Shares of Apple are down 1.5 percent Wednesday.
