Apple (AAPL) 'Bounces' on Patent Victory Over Samsung in Japan

Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is up in early trading Friday following news that it beat Samsung in a key patent case.
Reports out have Apple toppling Samsung in Japan, with Tokyo District Court Judge Shigeru Osuga finding that Samsung smartphones and a tablet PC infringed on an Apple patent covering visual effects for touch panels.
Damages in the verdict haven't been assessed yet and a timeframe hasn't been set.
Samsung said it would review the findings and assess the potential of an appeal.
The patent covered the way and iPad or iPhone screen appears to bounce when the user scrolls to the end of a document or file.
Last August, another Tokyo District Judge found Apple to infringe on a Samsung patent covering how music and video data synchronized with servers.
Apple is up 0.6 percent early.
