Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is expected to take over 8 million orders for the MacBook Air in the third quarter and as a result, producers and manufactures in the upstream supply chain for Apple notebook products will run in full gear starting July.
DigiTimes reports makers of the parts and components for the MacBook lineup are expected to see orders for July that will top 2.7-2.8 million units, above total orders for June of 2.2-2.4 million MacBooks. A source forecasts MacBook notebook shipments to total 15 million units in 2011, up from a previous estimate of 13 million.
