With competition in the smartphone arena increasing seemingly every month, Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) isn't resting on its laurels quite yet.
Bloomberg reported today that Apple is considering larger panel sizes and potential curved displays for future iPhone handsets. Apple might also be mulling enhanced sensors which are capable of detecting different levels of pressure.
By the second-half of next year, the new iPhones may have displays that are larger and curve down toward the edges. Display sizes might range from 4.7- to 5.5-inches, said sources familiar with the matter. Touch screen technology won't be ready for the next round of iPhones, the sources noted.
Apple didn't comment on the chatter and Bloomberg sources noted that plans haven't been finalized yet.
Shares of Apple are slightly lower in early trading Monday.
