Apple's (AAPL) Mac Mini Back on the Table -AppleInsider

According to reports from AppleInsider, sources say that a new version of Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) Mac mini is being put back on the table. The article cites a recent article by Macminicolo, the largest Mac mini colocation firm, which claims that it "is certain there is another mini on the way."

As Macminicolo operates about 400 Apple Mac minis which host sites for small businesses across the US, the company admits that it is "just about as familiar with the Mac mini as anyone". Keeping this in mind, Macminicolo has heard several rumors about a new Mac mini and has confirmed two out of the three claims:

• Apple's new mini will come equipped with the new Mini DisplayPort, saving considerable port space on the back of new mini
  
• the mini will be able to handle 4 gigs of RAM
  
• the mini's optical drive will be changed to a SATA connection, which will benefit users who use the mini as a server.

With the futures currently locked due to a circuit-breaker type hold on trading (Dow futures are down 550 pts, S&P 500 down 50 pts), shares of Apple are currently around $89.90 in pre-market trading, down about 8% from yesterday's closing price. Most traders are expecting a massive broader market sell-off at the open.
