After recovering from 52-week lows late last week, Anadarko Petroleum (NYSE: APC) is down another 4.4 percent today as the Obama administration could make BP plc (NYSE: BP) establish a $20+ billion damage fund to pay for costs related to the Gulf oil spill.
Since Anadarko has a 25% ownership in the Macondo well, some of this liability could be transferred to the company.
Anadarko fell as low as $34.54 in the aftermath of the spill. Currently shares trade at $40.
