According to reports from Bloomberg, American Express Company (NYSE: AXP) used the Federal Reserve's new commercial paper facility for the first time today.
Last week, American Express registered to sell as much as $14.7 billion in 90-day commercial paper to the Fed. American Express would not say how much of that was sold to the Fed today.
Shares of American Express are down 0.6% today to $25.31, with a 52-week range of $20.50 - $61.55. Shares of American Express are down 32% over the last three months.
