Ina Steiner's AuctionBytes.com blog reported that Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) will no longer accept payment from eBay's (Nasdaq: EBAY) Bill Me Later (BML) system. eBay bought Bill Me Later last month and Amazon actually owned a 10% stake in BML prior to eBay purchasing it.
Ina speculated that Amazon.com likely waited to get through the holiday season prior to halting the service that allows buyers to finance their online purchases.
She also thinks that Amazon likely stopped offering the Bill Me Later service because AMZN didn't want eBay to have access to its customer records and transaction information. Additionally, Amazon.com has not rolled out ebay's popular and very convenient paypal service for likely the same reason.
