Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) is trying to make your shopping experience a little more social with further Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) integration.
Amazon announced a new set of social features via email to customers recently. Connecting to a Facebook account will allow users to see what friends have reviewed or wished for, though only items on public Wish Lists will be visible. Users also have the option to opt-out of the feature if privacy is a concern.
Users will also be able to share products they have purchased, review, or add to Wish Lists more easily via a new series of options on Amazon's confirmation page.
More than that, Amazon will also tap into your Facebook page and pull information on "likes" in order to compile a better list of shopping suggestions. Items could range from books, to music, to the newest movies available for purchase.
Facebook recently moved to create a broader shopping experience with its "Gifts" initiative last year, though the company hasn't been too forthcoming about how the program has fared.
Amazon and Facebook are both lower in early trading Wednesday.
