Amazon (AMZN): Download These Five Apps and We'll Give You $10!

Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) may have a little too much cash on it's hands. Or, there's something else at play we're not aware of yet.

Accordiing to AndroidPolice, Amazon is giving 200 Amazon Coins (about $2) to download one of five promoted apps. Those apps are: iHeart Radio, Food Network In The Kitchen, Strawberry Shortcake Bake Shop, Dr. Panda's Restaurant, and Don't step the white tile. Download all of them and you get 1,000 Coins ($10) for use in the Appstore.

The kicker is that you don't have to keep any of the apps for an extended period of time; you're able to delete them off of your device right after install. We're curious as to whether there isn't a little bit of tracking code left on your mobile device once the files have been removed, or whether Amazon is getting paid a hefty fee by the app makers to promote these particular apps.

In any case, if you're an Android user and want a free $10 for the Amazon Appstore, the deal is still going on. Shares of Amazon are indicated higher Friday morning.
