Amarin (AMRN) Up as Vascepa Shows Strong Rx Growth Last Week

Amarin (Nasdaq: AMRN) is indicated higher Thursday following strong weekly prescription numbers.
Bloomberg Industries noted that prescriptions of Vascep for high triglycerides improved 4 percent to 3,401 for the week ended May 24th. By comparison, Glaxo's (NYSE: GSK) Lovaza saw just a 0.5 percent gain in the prior week.
For the four weeks ending May 24, Vascepa prescriptions are up 13.8 percent.
Blocking of channels and/or changes in projection methodology have happened since Vascepa's introduction.
Ahead of the bell, Amarin is up 4 percent.
