Alcatel (ALU) Reduces Job Cut Expectations in France

Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) CEO Michel Combes, speaking to France's Le Monde news source, said that job cuts in the country will now be less than expected.
Combes commented that headcount reduction in France will be under 700, from prior expectations of cutting its workforce by 900.
The news today comes following Alcatel announcing that it and Altran entered an industrial partnership project to create an expertise and telecoms services center in the area of Nantes. More can be read here.
Shares of Alcatel are lower in early trading Wednesday.
